Topic: MS Pinky 45RPM support

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Maybe some of you know that MSPinky is now selling 45RPM vinyls. The problem is that they work not well with VDJ (doesn`t matter what you select, 33 or 45RPM).

In fact the timecode is the same as the one on the 33RPM vinyls. So you might ask yourself why to use the 45RPM ones then ?

- better feeling for many ppl who are usually spinning 45RPM records
- louder, more precise timecode signal cause 45RPM vinyls always got better dynamics
- might be an advantage when playing into a "noisy loud" environment

And i heard that the software needs to emulate when playing 33RPM records @ 45RPM which could cause a more unstable timecode signal.

So is there any chance to get these ones officially supported into the next versions ?
TIA !

BTW, this is what the MSPinky developers say about these new vinyls:

Quote :

The main difference is that the master plates were cut at 45 RPM, instead of 33-1/3 rpm like the other discs we've made. So the default playback speed of the disc should be 45 RPM, not 33-1/3. This is advantageous for certain users who are accustomed to mixing 45 RPM music vinyl. Another advantage of these discs is that they are pressed on the highest quality 180-gram vinyl which means they will last longer, and also perform better in high-volume environments.

For those who don`t know: These MSPinky records are the same as the Torq ones (MSPinky do them for M-Audio)
