Topic: VST2/VST3 plugin settings not restored after restarting VirtualDJ
Hi,
I am using VirtualDJ 2026 b9644 on Windows 11 with Stereo Tool 11.05 64-bit as a Master Effect.
I have tested both the VST2 and VST3 versions of Stereo Tool and see the same problem:
After loading my Stereo Tool .sts preset and selecting all settings, everything works correctly. The preset includes the processing settings as well as configuration settings such as German language and 1024 samples latency.
However, after closing and restarting VirtualDJ, Stereo Tool starts again with its default settings, for example English language and 4096 samples latency. I then have to manually load my .sts preset again and select all settings before everything is restored correctly.
I am not using a DJ controller and no controller is connected.
I also removed the old VST2 plugin and its old VirtualDJ .ini files and tested the current VST3 version separately, but the behaviour is unchanged.
It looks as if VirtualDJ is not restoring the complete VST plugin state after restart.
Is there a way to make VirtualDJ save and restore the complete Stereo Tool plugin state automatically?
Thanks for your help!

vdj doesn't save the full state data of vsts [I can't remember the real term for it, I think one of them calls it the "blob"
real terms
vst2 .fxp .fxb
vst3 .vstpreset

neither are read.

All it saves for vsts is dial positions, and some switch states as dial positions.
