UPDATE:
I disabled "analyzeSongsOnView" it seems to have fix my problem .

UPDATE JUNE 3/2025
Just had the frustrating library freezing again, rebout my MacBookPro 2021 With M1 Chip 3 times !
Only while using the search engine not browsing the library too?
I don't know if I am safe to gig with this on Saturday.
I need an solution before then :D

I haven't had a freeze in the last 2 sets. I also searched very carefully in the file browser. But I don't dare to move tracks in the set. But I can live with that. Fingers crossed that it continues to work.

I have been having this problem for months. I have an intel processor, and tried all these suggestions here except not using stems because that's the whole point of me using VDJ. The browser freezes when I click a playlist, but it can happen after 30 minutes or after 2 hours of playing a set. I think it has something to do with online connection to these services because mid set it would randomly not load a track for streaming. Why can I see the tracklist from a streaming service, but not load it??? sometimes it tells me to subscribe to iDJpool when I load a track even though I've been using it for the past hour.

probably 6 thousand across 20 playlist, largest playlist being 2-3 thousand

i also have access to my offline library now and will try that and see if i encounter any issues without beatport streaming.

I was not caching before but that seem like it is a likely solution to my problem.
how does caching in vdj differ from the beatport offline library?
is it subject to track limits and need to be updated to avoid DRM issues ?

even my cached files wont play because it says im not logged in, even though i have been

yeah it looks like. fingers crossed every time i am on a set :)
 
It's almost 2026, I still have this problem literally every time I play out, usually after 1-2 hours of playing, then it happens about every 30 minutes. I was so desperate I bought a M4PRO macbook pro, but still have this problem. I have to use an external source to play while I restart or even reboot.

I use multiple streaming sources and also SOUNDSWITCH. There was a soundswitch update that "fixed crashes for VDJ" but didn't help me at all. My guess is it has something to do with online music because it always happens when I browse to another playlist, the lists are empty and I can't click on anything.
Are we just the lucky few? Is it time top move on to DJay pro?
 
Have you tried eliminating things one by one to see where the issue is?
 
I use a M4 Pro MacBook Pro and a M1 MacBook Pro with SoundSwitch and Deezer streaming occasionally and I have never experienced the problems described here, so the problem in your case is not the architecture and most likely not the machine, but more likely your software configuration/other hardware.

The entire thread is about disabling things that cause the machine to do more work, and identified settings and browser fields to remove in an attempt to solve the problem based on that assumption. Did you try any of those?
And as @kradcliffe said, it's better to start simple (just VirtualDJ use and maybe add online search/streaming + a controller), than complex (SoundSwitch + VirtualDJ and everything else).
