Recently was using my EV Everse 8 with a Stereo 3.5 inch cable direct from Laptop to Speaker.
I was playing music on deck 1 without automix and all of a sudden like a ghost or possessed VDJ the volume bar would move down to 0 volume when I was using mic, and then when i stopped using mic it spiked the volume to 100% and kept moving up and down like that... Is there any info I can provide in terms of OS / Laptop / VDJ Version etc... Has this happened to anyone else?

No controller at all. Straight 3.5 inch stereo cable from ev everse 8 speaker directly to laptop.
This has never happened before so im quite shocked from it.

If the laptop is feeding the speaker directly, where's the mic plugged in?

use mic volume drops, stop using mic volume back up = mic ducking?
didn't see anything in manual but could be looking in wrong place.

That's what I was thinking, but that would either be a VDJ script (assuming "volume moving" means the volume control on the skin) or the speaker doing it (now we know where the mic's plugged in).
I don't see how the volume in VDJ is moving, as there's nothing controlling it, so either there's ducking on the speaker or it's limiting and sounding like it's ducking.
What do you mean by "kept moving up and down"? Was this every time you used the mic, or just randomly?
Is the laptop a Mac or PC? Is the socket you're using a combi in/out or just an output?

On the Audio Tab https://snipboard.io/mrT16o.jpg
These were moving on their own. I've done over 150 + ceremonies with the same speaker and setup never have had this happen.
It was INSANE. I actually purchased a brand new laptop today because I feel like more "Random" things like this are gonna happen.
The only other thing that was different was a Videographer had a Zoom Recorder plugged into Mix Out to Capture audio from officiant. Tell me how freaked you would be if your playing a key moment song and all of sudden your Volume starts moving down to mute... and then JACKS up to full... and kept doing it like a ghost was controlling it. It through me off.
ALSO i don't know if this is important or not but its VDJ 2023 b7651 build.

There's nothing as standard that would do this, I made an auto ducking plugin that does this, but you should know if you had the fx and turned it on.

Mate i don't know how I can explain it anymore. Its standard... it was laptop 3.5 inch stereo cord into the ev speaker i can't see any setting in the config on virtual dj that would cause this. i've never once ever seen it move to mute / spike to 100% on the audio tab like that. everything was 0DB etc. i'm just frustrated by it.

Were you connected to the Internet at the time? I wonder if somehow your system is compromised.
Edit: or was someone connected to the machine with the remote app?

Absolutely not I was outside in a valley with no internet. My system is not compromised. Remote app is not configured :(

There seems to be missing information from your setup (Audio Setup, any Controllers, any scripts and how they are used).
The ElectroVoice speaker itself is not computer connectable audio soundcard from looking at it, so you would have to be routing any audio from it into VirtualDJ somehow to react
VirtualDJ (AFAIK) will not move any faders in reaction to audio levels by default, it only clips if the limiter finds the signal is too loud.
Tell us exactly how you've set things up.
Also try backing up your current settings.xml, removing it and restarting VirtualDJ (to force default setup/config) and see if your issue persists.

Fairly certain i've been as transparent as possible but for the non believers here you go.
I was using my HP Laptop with VDJ (No Controller...) (No Scripts), No Addons... No anything other than what i wrote here... Directly running it from laptop 3.5 inch stereo cable directly into the EVerse 8 speaker 3.5 inch. The wireless mic Shure Wireless mic was plugged into Input2 on the back of the Everse 8 speaker. The power was coming from the Everse 8 speaker to the micro base station.
As I was playing music on deck 1 by my surprise an officiant started to talk on the microphone. When doing so my Volume on deck 1... completely on its own... moved down to 0 volume. When the officiant stopped talking the volume raised to 100% on deck 1... and it kept doing it... repeatly. I had to manually use my mouse to move the volume back to keep the music going. I made it through the ceremony without any complaint. I usually have a mackie mixer with me that I set 0DB to everything but left it at home accidently.
I don't typically run the microphone directly out of the speaker.
This weekend i'm going to try to replicate it and get it on video exactly what im doing so that we might be able to get a resolution to it. Its bazar and I know it seems unlikely but that's whats happening lol.

Honestly it's not really about faith/belief - it's just that what you're describing doesn't seem to make sense given how you said everything was setup (no feedback to VDJ so how would it know to do any auto ducking of volume on a deck?), based on the descriptions of default functionality of VirtualDJ above.
It makes a bit more sense if the speaker itself is doing the ducking of volumes of its input sources if it has such an option and detects that the combination of mic input + computer audio input is too loud (and somehow knows that you computer audio should be ducked or (more understandably), it ducks everything) and that has no relation to VirtualDJ's operation.
VirtualDJ has auto talkover ducking on a few controllers, e.g.
DDJ-FLX10, but in those cases it has complete knowledge/control of input and output levels due to it creating the master output result.
When you do this, also probably record a video showing everything.
Also let us know when you try this as well:
Could you potentially have the
Event Scheduler running something or have Automix going?

Automix was not running only 1 track on deck 1.
There is no controller connected to it, i will see if i can replicate it from my garage this weekend and get it on video. I can understand if a speaker has a ducking or option to surpress the sound if signal is too loud
but im telling you man VDJ was like possessed it... was moving on its own... up and down to mute to max... it was mind boggling.

Mic is included in your VDJ Audio Setup , or just Master (and Headphones) ?
Do you have any mic_talkover action in some Keyboard mapping (ONINIT key) or skin button ?
You can assign a Custom button as mic_talkover and next time it happens see if this is active
