Topic: Need help with database color tags
Ill try to explain my issue,
Normally i use an external hdd with a folder called "tunes" where all my songs are and on the drive but not in the tunes folder is a folder of playlists and a database file not in any folder.

No matter what computer i plug it into if i open one of my playlists in vdj it shows them on that drive "zombie z" and any color tag ive added to a song is there.

Today as backup i have a laptop that has a main drive and "P" second hdd, on p i added my tunes folder, my playlist folder and that database file and when i open it in vdj and load my playlist that part works but the color tag i gave the song isnt there its just default white.

So how do i get it to add the colors too on this laptop?
I assume a database issue,

Thanks

You copied the wrong database file.

The correct database file for VirtualDJ 8 onwards is
Z:\VirtualDJ\database.xml

You need to copy that directory/file from one computer to another.

The file "VirtualDJ Local Database v6.xml" that you have most likely lying around at the root of your external drive is not used anymore. It was used from VirtualDJ 6 and VirtualDJ 7.

Interesting,
So where on the external drive is that correct data base stored/hiden?

For example when i plug my ex hdd in at the club my songs color codes are there so they must be coming in on the ex hdd.

Many Thanks
