I tried to update the software but I got an error message stating:
This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is an invalid windows installer package.
I tried downloading both versions and I got the same problem. Anyone would be able to help?

It seems that the installation file was not downloaded completely. I would suggest to try a different Internet browser and download the file again.
what do you mean by both versions ? The msi file is the one you need for a Windows based computer.
