Pioneer DJ DDJ-SB2 Controller will blow you away!.. Seriously:)
First off the Serato Intro Software never did work with my product; I will ask about that in the question box later. However the DJ DDJ- SB2 did work with my "Virtual DJ Pro 8" Licence and subscription. This controller is a power house of sound quality and performance which includes Hit the top 4 rubber pads to trigger Hot Cue, Auto Loop, Manual Loop and Sampler – and the bottom 4 for immediate access to Play, Cue, Sync and Shift. Use the trim knob and level meters to quickly check and adjust the input volume on each channel; It also has the trim knob and level meters to quickly check and adjust the input volume on each channel. The other thing is you can hit Filter Fade to add 2 high pass filters to the crossfader, so you can manipulate both the volume and bass filters with one hand for effortless mixes. That leaves the other hand free to get creative with loops, cue, samples and FX. I'm very pleased with this controller and for the money you can't beat it but here on Amazon buying it was more convenience than anything because it's the same price most places I checked. This is for newbies or professional DJ's.

I'm a middle-aged man and I wanted to try my hand at making my own music selections with a twist. I was a big fan of House music back in the late 80's and early 90's, so I thought what the heck? This can't be that hard can it? I bought the Pioneer brand controller because, well, it's Pioneer and most of the reviews were positive towards its use, design, and functionality. There are several buttons which control how you want your music to be heard. The touch pads seem quite sturdy for me, but then again, I'm not using it every weekend. I like the feel of everything and have no complaints. I had already compiled a large library of music and off I went. I have tried on numerous occasions to get the right mix down. Boy! is it hard! I will never look at a DJ and think he/she has an easy job. I'm not going to sell it because I like it that much. Maybe you have no aspirations of being a DJ either and so I would heartily recommend the Pioneer DDJ-SB2 to get started with. I have been using Virtual DJ 8 with the controller for which I also paid 99 dollars. So, keep that in mind that you won't get software with this controller. Some will say you get Serato but that is for a much limited version which you can only use for 10 minutes at a time. If you want to do any DJ'ing you're going to need better software.

The Pioneer DJ DDJ-SB2 controller is an amazing product for the cost with a cutting edge quality, and a clean digital sound. The jog wheels with platinum touch are very precise. Despite coming with Serato Intro, I used the table with Djay Pro (Algoriddim), and the response of controls, mixer, pitch, equalizers, effects and crossfader, were perfect. The lighting and colors of the buttons are good, without exaggeration. In the dark or low light it shine calling more attention. Talking about be noticed, anywhere you go with the SB2, it will not be difficult to impress your friends and hear someone say: -"Wow, what a beautiful controller!". It really looks professional and the performance is professional. As my first controller, I am very excited because it is possible to practice all the djs techniques, including the famous scratch. If u looking for a robust, competent controller, with a buit-in mixer that will not let you down, this is the perfect device to begin to mix at the exact moment you connect to your laptop. Just enjoying it!

I've bought this controller two times now because its my favorite one yet. Works flawlessly with virtual DJ and has everything I need. There are plenty of extra features like the special loopers and trigger pads but I don't use them. This is a solid dependable controller with a built in sound card so you can plug into a mixer or PA directly from here. Powered completely over USB so you only need one cable to make this thing work.My biggest complaint is the headphone jack being on the side and not the front. There is almost no way to rack mount this device without a little hacking. Good for a tabletop setup but I'm not sure how you would fit it into a road case. I sold an NV2 and went back to this because I liked it better, there IS such thing as too many features.

Pros: bus powered, lightweight, compact. Serato is a solid solution. Works right out of the box (with a caveat)
Negatives: single FX knob rather than separate controls per fx. Casing is all plastic, which keeps the weight down but makes it feel somewhat flimsy.

Here is something that occurred to me right out of the box that was sort of counterintuitive. When you plug this device in for the first time after installing the drivers, the system will get assigned as your default audio device in Windows if you are using a Windows machine.. it would seem that that would be correct, but it isn't. If you start Serato in this way, what will happen is you will only see one deck available.

What you have to do is go into your sound devices, and right-click the default audio device on your computer whatever it is. Usually it's some built-in soundcard or whatever. Set that as your default audio device for both recording and play back.

When you restart Serato, this will allow Serato to take over the internal sound card on the Pioneer, and everything works perfectly.

This is quite a good DJ controller. Easy to use and quite a lot of new features compared to what I started out with (Numark Party Mix). It even comes with Serato Intro. Serato is a hella of lot better than Virtual DJ in my opinion. More professional appearance, better features, easier to use, and very compatible with many controllers. I'm not planning to go all pro and all, so this one is perfect! Still get chills listening to my own recorded trance sets!

WARNING: DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU ENJOY MUSIC. YOU WILL SPEND HOURS SUCKED INTO THE HOME THAT IS DJ-ING.

With that being said, I'd give this deck 6 stars if I could. Build quality, function, everything is perfect & the price is right on. This is an awesome beginner deck that you can sink hundreds of hours into without feeling like you're being held back by hardware. Any serious DJ would be looking to upgrade their deck eventually to get more control, but this deck will keep a noobie going for a while, while they learn they basics and begin to progress into the intermediates of DJ-ING. Highly recommend upgrading to the full version of serato safer you've played with this for a month or two on serato intro.

Great product which I got as a birthday present for a semi novice. I have researched quite a lot and it is the best controller from the first contact products. It has a wide variety of options and great software. It is the best starting point and a lot of tutorials available online to learn. Highly recommended. The seller also is worth recommending as fast delivery and packaged well. Thank you

5.0 out of 5 stars Cannot be beat at this price range!
Reviewed in Canada on November 18, 2016
So for years now i have wanted to play around and be a home/bedroom Dj, after all music is one of my biggest passions.. Every board was either inexpensive and plasticy/toyish, or nearly a thousand dollars and professional.. The SB2 is the exception to that.

My close friend owns the Pioneer SR and i was worried the SB2 would be horrible in comparison to my experience using his board, but i wasnt about to spend 800$+tax on something i would only use in my bedroom, so the SB2 it was.. And man, was it ever..

First thing that stood out was the build quality and look of the board. It looks and feels both professional and solid. The knobs are smooth and secure, the faders and volume controls are wonderful to use, and the decks are responsive and do exactly what you would expect. The rubber performance pads under each deck respond just as good, if not better than i would have ever expected. Combine this with Serato DJ Intro or the full Serato software package and youll be up and running in about 3 minutes! I find myself spending hours playing with this board every day and loving the board more and more.

There are a few cons with this board however.. The pitch sliders are tiny, and they increment in 0.06 or 0.08 amounts or something, so often youll find yourself beatmatching something at 128.00 with another song at 127.95 or similar. Its not a huge deal, and im sure there are settings within Serato to adjust the incremental jumps of the pitch faders, but even so theyre not fantastic and the resolution of the faders are lower than i had hoped.

Another issue i have found is only having 4 cue points. Im not sure if there is a way to access the full 8 points you normally have, but i havent figured a way to do that quite yet. This can be a nuissance, but you can work around it!

Lastly, the outputs on the board are very limited, with it only providing you 2 rca out ports for L and R.. I had to do a bit of voodoo magic to get all of my gear hooked up together. But once you do you will have practically zero issues!

All in all, those are the ONLY issues ive experienced with this board. Its perfect for the bedroom/starter DJ and allows plenty of room to grow into. If youre still hard into DJing after 6 months, you may choose to upgrade to an SR or something from Numark/Denon. Up until that point, this controller will be perfect!

I have included pictures of my home DJ setup!
