Topic: New BUG´S Topic

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Since the old one gets hard to read, and since the b17 may have corrected a lot of crashes now that it can read almost all mp3 whitout crashing, I think it will be better to start a brand new bug topic.

5- It´s still detecting the first beat wrong in many songs. [Coco]

9- Just shuts off after going to a cue then scratching backwards to begining before the cue.[home]

10- Remainder of track sometimes left in deck, when you hit play a small piece of the song plays then the song loaded plays.[home]
==> I had it too [Coco]
18- Just reminding of the buffer left in the deck when a new track is loaded. Like a 1/2 of a second of the previous track remains....sometimes[home]

11- Not automatically adjusting the bpm when you drop a new track in when auto bpm is enabled.[home]
==> If it is an unknkown song, it will adjust the bpm as soon as it has finished to load (and thus analyse) the track. [stef]

12- Stef can I send you a track that crashes VDJ everytime no matter what and locks entire pc.[home]
==> Yes please [stef]

13- After saving a playlist and you modify the tracks bpm they are not stored.[home]
In fact I don't think they were stored at all[home]
==> I don't understand. What does it have to do with the playlist??? [stef]

14- Well I loaded VDJ up on my laptop computer today. Athelon XP1300 w/256 ram. (windows Xp) I couldn't really baby sit it all day, but I loaded the play list and let it run. Over the course of 5-6 hours, it had 3-4 recoverable errors, (scan thread) and locked up completely twice. I'll try again tomorrow and pay more attention to it. [Rick]
OK, best I can tell is the auto play feature even when set to none is very demanding. I'm now going through a recent play list, and manually analysing and mixing as I go. So far, 1 1/2 hours, no exception errors. Is Auto play that demanding??

[rick again] even with beta 18 during auto play every once in a while, the song will skip back and forth at the beginning, and occassionally have a recoverable error (scan thread).

19-Crashed entire pc while deck 1 was playing and I was trying to scratch on the second deck[home]
==> Same here but not everytime...[Coco]

20- Not sure if this is a bug but when VDJ is analysing a track or 2 the movement of the record is stalled also so is the arm moving to the record. Looked in processes and seen that VDJ was using 95% of my pc. Was it like that before ?[home]
===> This is done on purpose. This way the track scans as fast as possible, the only thing left active is the rhythm display so you can know what's going on in the sound [stef]

22- I am at work right now and just realized that VDJ has very loud pops and clicks during the play of any track ! This was not obvious at home.[home]
I am home now so I wanted to elaborate on the above bug. It almost sounds like a record. The pop is very loud and is consistent. This to me is a DEFINATE problem. I was forced to close VDJ and use Atomix due to the loud pops and clicks. [home]
==> Same here...[Coco]

23- I was trying to mix an mp3 with a real vinyl. So only 1 mp3 was playing on vdj. While I was adjusting the mp3 with left/right arrows, vdj suddenly shutted down with no error code. [dams]

24- Home folder not saved on exit[home]after a reboot and set folder all is well.....

26- Right click on play doesn't work on simple skin like it does on default..[home]

27- Been listening more to the pops and clicks.....they are more noticeable in the right channel.[home]

28- Very strange error, VDJ continued to play but the skin began to overlap itself with one another. [home]

29- Gives me these errors while i was scratching over a "new" song: Exception Error in Main thread at 77f42e9d:42890689;
and Exception Error in Scan thread at 413606:7f046839.
Both cases at right deck and nothing playing at the left deck
After the last error, i couldn´t open vdj. Said "invalid skin file (error line %i in the xml). btw, i was using the default skin. [Coco]

30) While listening to a playlist I received an exception error message, Scan thread 42d632:ce8babf3 used recover, and the song continued. Could it be possible to be able to highlight & copy these error messages... that'd be simpler than writing them down.

About the cracks and pops, does it only happen in b18, or is it in all versions?

Please now report the errors numbers written in the crashrecover when you experience a crash. (and try to make the old ones happen again to find these numbers).

Vippers: please respect this topic to write your bugs..

Before writing any new bug, please read this list and any the others reported bugs.
Nobody wants to create a hugh list with the same bugs each time..

Just a note, the minimum requirement for VirtualDJ is a PIII-1GHz with 384Mo RAM.
So if you don't meet this requirement, and if it skips or behave like it was lacking resources, it's not a bug :)

Not sure if this what we are doing now.....Posting bugs in seperate topics but here goes.

Stef, If you choose to scan later just for wma files VDJ clears the already scanned mp3's can this be changed.....

About the OS question:

Win 2000 is the best.
Win XP can be as good as 2000, and even better, but you have to disable all the unused windows stuff (we will put an wxp optimisation page on the website soon)
Win 98 is really the worst
I don't think virtualdj works with win95 anymore.

Stef.
