I don't like wXP or w2000 for run Atomix. The NT engine is very very heavy! I prefer w98se (with only atomix, without 36 programs, games or Appz, which crash win).

But, I use wXP for all other applications. Sûre, it's the best OS...

i really like using xp with atomix but only on my desktop cuz it's real powerful. on my laptop i like win2k the best. what i really like is that win2k is more dedicated to audio and video. on my laptop when i go to switch skins there's usually a flicker or two but it won't make the music skip.. with xp..it does.

98se is not the best option, Win 2000 would be the best, but often may have problem playing MP3, unless you know how to tweak it ;-)

I have a SB Live Value, seems to be a well known issue with Win 2000 and mobo based on VIA chipset :-(
Thinking about getting the Sonic Fury from Videologic, would be nice to have an opnion from atomix users about this card.

I don't know this card, but you can change your OS, too. If you prefer the NT engine to not NT, choise wXP and the Creative value/live drivers runs correctly.

Windows 98 (first edition) is the best! No compatibility problems...

Personnaly I think winMe is the worse OS of microsoft.

On the other hand, Win Xp is one of the fastest OS (win98SE too butonly on the first launches)

So if you want to be able to set priority of your applications, choose Xp else win98SE will be a great choice
