Would love a waveform mode, that would display 2 deck waveforms, with each deck having 2 different zoom levels. So one would view the 2 playing tracks, with 4 displayed waveforms, with one say zoomed out, and the other maybe fully zoomed in.
(there would be 2 zoom levels available)
Is this currently possible to skin?
(have not investigated, asking here for input of the possiblilites.
I am assuming it is not possible, since it would require 2 zoom levels.
And if it could be skinned with say zoom level, "X" and, zoom level, "4X", (for the duplicate deck waveforms), that would be great.
If not, would love to have this as an additional "waveform display" mode added to the Pro Skin, drop down, to enable this duplicate waveform display, (with different zoom levels), for 2 decks.

No, not really possible at this moment.
Currently there are 3+1 zoom settings:
1) Rhythm (overlaping waveforms) zoom
2) Scratch (simple/stems) waveforms zoom
3) Vertical waveforms zoom
4) Controller waveform zoom (for specific devices that need that)
Also keep in mind that using the mouse scrollwheel over a waveform changes the zoom of the given waveform.
Having separate zoom levels would make it much harder to keep track of everything and honestly, it looks kinda confusing to me.
Right now it "IS" possible to place both scratchwaves and rythmview on a skin and therefore have different zoom levels for each. It doesn't look good though, especially with different zoom.

Thanks PhantomDeeJay
I take it you have seen this combo of waveforms.
I have not seen what it would look like, only imagined it may be useful at times when, otherwise switching zoom levels, a lot, to both see phrasing, and beat grid alignments, during prep.
And maybe thought it could possibly create something similar the Serato (dual waveform) look, to use when mixing, if it was not too busy, or distracting.
Only about 50% of the ideas, are ever actually useful, once they are tested/implemented.

Pretty sure Serato doesn't have dual waveforms - it has the regular vertical or horizontal waveforms, with an extra tempo matching display that shows peaks for transients.
I don't really see it being that useful compared to other software, given your grid is displayed properly - you get the same effect lining up gridlines, once you have the waveform zoom appropriately set (and you can have mappings for zooming in/out at various rates in VirtualDJ).
The only other waveform I know of is the track overview (in the deck), and VirtualDJ already has that.

Yes, I tried it a few years back to see if I would add it as an option on one of my skins (Vectro)
Didn't look nice AT ALL! :P
A work around for working with different zoom levels is to code them on custom button(s)
The action needed is quite simple. You just need to find the values you like the most.
Here's an example that toggles 2 different zoom levels with one button: zoom 0.25 ? zoom 0.6 : zoom 0.25
In a similar manner you can either make a button that cycles more presets, or you can just use zoom 0.25 to call a particular zoom level directly.
