Been using (working with) VDJ8 for about 2 years now. No issue's, no freezes, no problems.
No regrets at all (coming from more than 10 years Traktor Pro user) and never looked back.
Due to the intensive use, I came across some (personal) ideas to make VDJ even greater:
- When a window is resized (ex. BPM Editor), the window will open at the last chosen size when re-opening
- When drag and drop song in a Virtual Folder, the Virtual Folder-tree will expand (if containing sub-folders) when hoovering over the Main Virtual Folder
- When creating new Playlist, the suggested ‘New Playlist’ name is selected in the Enter Name field, so when you start typing a name in that field, ‘New Playlist’ is automatically deleted. Or press Enter if you want to keep the name ‘New Playlist’. Now you have to select and delete ‘New Playlist’ manually.
- When doing a search (magnifying glass), right-click on a track in the search results and add the possibility to ‘Search in Virtual Folders’ to get an overview (via a pop-up window) in which Virtual Folder(s) the song appears
- Make search on lyrics/words (song text) possible (via a the tag editor, implement a text field to paste lyrics of the song) and add an extra search option in the search-drop-down-menu
- Determine start-point of (saved) LOOP (LOOP is 3 – 4 – 1 – 2, start LOOP at 1).
