Why doesn't the home version allow to configure AutoStart plugins ?
Why doesn't "Cover" effect show video under the resized cover ?
Why do initial video and transition and effects are" None" by default but once a selection have been done "None" is not available anymore ?
Why does ScreenGrab have a "ghost" default parameter "Custom AlwaysShow 8=FFFFFFFF" which is much more user friendly wen "manually" set to 0 but saves back to 01000000?
Why do only some native effects (both audio and video) save their parameters for Master deck only, (xxx.ini) some other also for Left deck and Right deck (xxx_1.ini xxx_2.ini )and none for other decks , specially Mic and Sampler 3, 4, 5, 6 .. (xxx_-1.ini, xxx_-2.ini xxx_3.ini ...)? and by the way, loose all their settings and apply to the wrong deck when parameters are edited ?

Because those are reserved for pro users.

It is made to display the cover mainly.
Originally it was full-screen only, but indeed, now that you can resize it smaller it would make sense for it to show the video underneath in that case.

Not sure why you see that. If you start with default settings, the default video effect is 'Boom' and the default Video Transition is 'Satellite'
In the video transition drop-down 'None' is available as a choice too.

AlwaysShow is an internal parameter. If you need to change settings you should do them from within VirtualDJ, not modifying the ini file.

There is no difference between effects. for all effects, there is only one set of parameters saved depending on their use, not depending on deck or master.
The ini files with _1 are when used as color fx and _2 when used as video source for audio files.

Ok, then only the effects problem is giving a bug with some of them
In this case it would be fine to be able to keep a full deck_set with loaded effects aswell as their parameters not only loaded tracks and pitch
