What happened to the auto close and open of the folder sidebar and side list panes. I remember they used to open if you hovered over them.

That feature has been discontinued on VirtualDj 8. It's present only on VirtualDj 7.

The only available automation is when you select a track from the Songs List and drag it over the separator button (E.g. the "sideview" vertical button) it opens the Split panel automatically.
