Everyone asked for it. Now it is there and a day into the new version, not a single comment...

I have never used spotify myself. Does this allow you to stream in VDJ from spotify then?

Yes. You can't cache the tracks for obvious reasons but they will load in the decks and play like any other song. It also recognizes any Spotify playlists you already have set up.

Again, not sure of the legalities surrounding this as Spotify T&C state it's for non-commercial use but I guess it's up to the individual to decide what they use it for.

It's a good move by Atomix as the current content unlimited audio package isn't very comprehensive at all.

Yeah I have mixed feelings about this. I have no doubt thousands of people will be delighted at this news, and sure i will probably give it a go. But surely it cannot be legal to use at a gig?

EDIT - Ah, read your post wrong initially, thought you said you could cache them, Guess it is good that you cant. Kind of makes it difficult to use at a gig.

so this only works if u have a paid spotify account?

Yes, I wouldn't fancy using it for all my music but the facility is there for that "one off" track you don't have .... similar to the previous Netsearch.

Not sure. I do and it works fine but not sure if it will work with free.

Well given the amount of people who seemingly tried to DJ using nothing but netsearch, i bet many people will be trying to with this.

Since this is built in now, would it be a good idea to cancel Content Unlimited and do a premium account with Spotify? Or do you need to have both subscriptions? And is Deezer as good as Spotify or about the same in terms of catalog size and range of music?

It is not possible to cache spotify songs. You're only able to stream them. Meaning, you can not play them offline.
So if you have a CU subscription I wouldn't necessarily cancel it.

And let's not forget the fine print, Spotify is for Home use only.
