Topic: Resetting loop to 2 beats after being released.

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I use a Hercules RMX for mixing in VD7 currently. I have a button that loops at 2 beats then buttons assigned to double of half that.

In VD8, I don't see an option to select a 2 beat loop but only what was last used. For example, if I set the loop beat to 2 beats and enable it, start to half the beats for a climax then release the loop, that loop I still on 1/4 beat. Unless I manually change it, when that loop is engaged, it will engage at 1/4.

Is there a way to do this differently or change it so the control reflects what I can do in VD7?

Thank you.

loop 2

you can call any length loop by including a parameter [I use, loop 1.5 with slip on quite often]

As loop above I tried the slip on and OFF and off I see/ hear no difference, what suppose to happen?

slip or slip mode?

I meant slipmode,
loop 1.5 is one of those lengths that [on paper] the 4/4 brain recoils in horror from but actually [in practice] is used quite a bit in production to funk up monotonous 4/4 beats [best results with breakbeats jungle etc]

another length is loop 0.33 [giving you a triple over a single beat]

Slip mode can be a tricky one as it works in a two ways

if you turn it on already in a loop, it only slips when scratched
if it's on before you are in a loop, upon exiting the loop then it jumps to where you would have been had you not looped

It's all script, controllers, skins even then some pluggins, very little happens in vdj without a script
