Topic: Is VDJ 8.2 now auto updating tags?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I rescanned my venue playlist yesterday in 8.2 to utilize the new BPM scanner, and now Robomirror says I have 1,211 changed files.

I'm sure in previous versions scanning a track in VDJ only updated the database and not the track id tags. If so, what's being changed as scanning the track in VDJ shouldn't have an effect in the file itself.

setTagsAuto is yes, however I haven't changed any of the file info data, just rescanned in 8.2

Done a bit of checking and it now seems if you rescan a track it updates the id3 tag with the scanned BPM.

Sure it never used to do this before unless you changed it manually in the file info.

Actually if you have "setTagsAuto" to yes then it will write the BPM on the tags.
Before 8.2 there was a bug (that's now fixed) where if you scanned files in a batch VirtualDj would not write the new BPM value on the tag.
Now it writes the BPM on any case depending on your "setTagsauto" setting

Cool, thanks George.

I agree it should have probably written the BPM to the tag anyway however it never did in previous versions hence my question.
