It was my understanding that one cannot use streaming music sources like Deezer if one is recording. I'm assuming that will be the case moving forward, so it would help functionality to be able to save the cue sheet independent of having to record the mix in VirtualDJ. I'm unsure if all streaming sources prohibit using their tracks for DJing an online show.

Can we get the files that we use numbered in the browser? And inside their folder? (virtual, filter etc.)

Would be fine a rightclick on folder in left tree to allow file operation -> open in explorer

No way to tell if a track has been analysed, beatgridded or cue points added.

a preview section like Rekordbox DJ
So you can see at a glance if you have previously worked on a track or not

You can set up filter folders to show analysed or not analysed. IMO anyone using VDJ should be analysing tracks as part of their database maintenance routine anyway.

1) Add new tracks
2) Analyse new tracks

Agreed about the cue points. It's been requested before, and a cue point browser column suggested (can show cue point count as a number).

And lockable once this has all been done. so it cant be changed.

drag the artist in a way to find all its hits
drag the album in a way to find all the titles
drag remixer to in a way find all its remixes
... make sense but would be difficult to specify the field

dedicated buttons can do similar things :
get_browsed_song 'author' & param_cast text & search

or some simple pad
search `get_browsed_artist & param_cast text`

or simple drop pad
<pad1 drop="search `get_browsed_artist &amp; param_cast text`" name="Artist">get_browsed_song author &amp; param_cast text &amp; search</pad1>

or pad allowing drop from explorer

Inspired by my previous post I created it: a pad allowing to search by drag&drop
drop a filename to a pad with the wanted field name, it searches for track matching this field
clicking the pad does the same with selected file
rightclick (or shift) resets calling folder
if interested in I can upload it

I've always liked a similar feature in Traktor. In their browser, each search result has a tiny magnifying glass icon in the various fields.

If for example you searched and got results that included Micheal Jackson, you might decide to pull up all your Michael Jackson songs, so rather than having to type 'Michael Jackson' in the search box, or drag the result somewhere, you just click the little icon next to his name.

even it would be fine in standard browser
this can actually be fully implemented out of the browser (or in custom browser)
(some fields were removed from search options some times ago but they are always usable in scripts)

I know some people have a row of custom buttons along the top of the browser that perform a search based on the highlighted file. That's a reasonable compromise.

3 Feature Requests In The Browser Area

1) Ability to lock browser from sorting
Sometimes, when moving the mouse to the search field and clicking to type,
I can accidentally click on the column header and the browser then re-sorts all the music.
I really cannot "undo" this or go back to the order I was looking at.

2) Ability to search for a song / title and results return which playlist that song is in
( It would be nice to have a feature, where search results also show which playlist that song appears in,
and maybe the 'position' in that playlist, eg. to see which other song appears before/after the searched song )

3) Preview of song, needs to have its title displayed somewhere in the browser.
When previewing a song, in the browser, ... when the focus changes from the search field
or a different song is searched, the preview-player still plays the previous song but there is no title or no way of knowing which song is being played.
